This weekend saw boarders out and about, both in our own extensive woodland and on the slopes of Newtown Common. We had a full-on Outdoor Challenge for any who wished to cook up some tasty pancakes over a campfire whilst others were fine tuning their mountain-biking skills on the steep slopes of the Common. Suitably muddy and suitably tired, they came back enthusing about the fun of it all.
During the afternoon, we had a group out in town at a local American-style diner followed by a trip to see Paddington II at the cinema. The movie was considered a resounding success. The evening before, all those here at school had enjoyed a massive game of Dodgeball in the sports’ hall and some expert skipping, jumping, dodging and general evasive skills were much in evidence.
The weekend finally drew to a close with a most reflective Remembrance service in the Chapel. With fine hymn singing, some beautiful anthems, and a moving pupil performed Last Post and Headmaster address, this was a lovely shared experience for the extended school family.
