What a wonderful day for a wonderful cause and a massive thank you to all who have supported, either through walking with us, through donations or both! The biennial Horris Hill walk for charity was great fun and a great success. The scenery was as spectacular and beautiful as always, the previous night’s thunder and lightning had paved the way for warm sun and a gentle breeze and the assembled extended Horris Hill family of boys, parents, staff, friends of the school and several dogs, large, small and middling had a tremendous time. That’s not to say the lads always avoided the occasional boggy areas or arrived back at school looking as clean as they had when they had set off but the dirty trainers and mud spattered knees showed that the paths had been well and truly trod.
The charity for this walk is The Rainbow Centre in Fareham and it perfectly satisfies the criteria we use in choosing which to support. It is closely associated with children, is quite small and has a connection with us. So now that the walk is complete and all the boys from youngest to oldest have played such a huge part, any further support would be wonderful and so very much appreciated. As I say, thank you so much to all those who have given so generously already.
For those who might consider supporting this very worthy cause we have set up a Just Giving page, details of which were outlined in the Headmaster’s letter at the end of last term and the beginning of this. Any donation will make a huge difference to the centre in its work.
