After weeks of rehearsing and progressing through the early rounds in front of a home grown panel of experts and with biographies written
, eight highly talented young musicians took to the stage for the grand final of our first ever Musician of the Year competition which took place on the morning of Half Term.
There was a fabulous mix of the classical and the more modern and a good range of instruments on show. We had three pianists, a brass player, a saxophonist, a drummer and two violinists in what was a closely fought contest. Our guest adjudicator from Radley College made three awards with the winner being one of the violinists, playing the 3rd Movement of the Concerto in G minor Op12 by Friedrich Seitz.
This was a wonderful morning of high level playing and one much enjoyed by the full house of parents, staff and boys. Well done, not just to the eventual winner, but to all those who took part.
