Horris Hill boys travelled through time like some modern day Dr Who Time Lord back
to the days when castles dominated the landscape and chain mail was the kit to have. Old Sarum never fails to impress. With its massive ramparts, central motte, cathedral ruins and windswept position, it neatly brings in to focus the early medieval work that has been going on in the classroom. Aside from its close ties to William I, Eleanor of Aquitaine was imprisoned here, William Marshall was a visitor, Henry II oversaw significant building works and the caterers here at school had provided us all with tasty snacks. As I say, the regular visits we pay never fail to impress!
