There were Hesitation Dribbles and Cross-over Dribbles, Alley-oops and Dream Shakes a-plenty on show on Saturday evening. The Colour Basketball Challenge was a fast and furious competition of high energy, and the skills on show would have graced any Carrier Dome or Rupp Arena.
The senior trip to Laser Quest had the adrenaline pumping exhilaration of stalking opponents and unleashing devastating attacks in the Battle-Zone of the next Century! It was pretty much what our 3rd’s rugby team was doing in its match last Wednesday but without the laser guns. This trip always comes out high up on the survey of outings our seniors would like and for good reason.
Younger boys were out and about, flying down a wide range of water flumes in Basingstoke’s Aquadrome, whilst others were busy constructing Obi-Wan’s Jedi Inteceptor as part of the Lego Club or honing their cricketing skills in organised nets in the sports’ hall.
Education of a different sort was in evidence with boys being introduced to what might be termed a vinyl-revival in the Health Centre. Move over Justin, Zane, 5SOS et al and make way for Status Quo, The Beatles and real music. With an afternoon board games’ session and a lovely evensong, this was another busy weekend.
As always, my thanks to all.
