It’s not often that we challenge the likes of Trip Advisor but this weekend the Lego Club took a departure from the norm and created its very own Italian landmark. Realistic and detailed, it made one want to jump on a plane and fly off to Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino airport , that’s the one built on top of the Roman Pharos, and grab a taxi to the Piazza di Trevi. Trip Advisor gives the fountain experience 4 Stars, but they’d give ours a 5 for sure.
Saturday evening saw the seniors demolish the worldwide supplies of Clive Christian No 1 and Ambre Topkapi in readiness for their social with St Mary’s, Calne here at school. It’s always a wonderful evening with great company, great food and a dance floor that sees moves hitherto unknown to man. With numbers scribbled and safely stashed away, the girls headed homewards and the boys headed for their houses.
Early Sunday morning saw a group heading off to Swinley Forest to do some serious mountain biking. There were berms and bumps and slaloms a-plenty and our lads whizzed along like the seasoned-pros that they are. Not long after they had returned, a coach load of budding fashion designers was off to Newbury to see Zoolander 2. For those in the groove of a rather different sort, the trip to our local Golf Driving Range saw our lads launching balls into the far distance. Happy Gilmore would have been proud.
This has been a full-on and exciting weekend. My thanks to all who made this possible.
