Kings World Trust for Children
The Kings World Trust for Children is a charity based in Tamil Nadu, Southern India. It provides a home for 180 orphaned and homeless children. Horris Hill has supported the work of this charity for 9 years. In 2000 the school did a sponsored walk raising £9000. Since then many Horris Hill parents have sponsored children at the Trust. In addition a number of older sisters and brothers of boys at Horris Hill have gone out to India to work at the Kings World Trust as part of their Gap year.
In 2004, when the tsunami hit the coast of Tamil Nadu, KWTC was involved with the rebuilding of a fishing village badly damaged by the wave. Horris Hill put on a special sponsored concert and run to raise much needed funds for the work in India.
Recently a number of Horris Hill staff have been over during their summer holidays to teach in the new Kings School.
