This letter is intended to provide support to those parents who have not yet used the service or who might like some help navigating the site.
The Horris Hill site is split in to two areas;
The Public area
It acts as an on-line prospectus. It is updated on a daily basis (for example pictures in Latest news, Sports and Extra curricular). No names of boys will appear on this area of the website.
The two sections that may be of particular interest to current parents are;
Latest news
Pictures of current events are included in this section.
Parent Menu
Contains much useful information, including newsletters, school uniform, tutor lists, term dates, policy documents, staff email addresses & information about public schools and much more (some information in the Parent Menu requires log-in).
The Log-in area
In order to Log-in you must first Register.
To Register
Go to Register on the left hand column of the website
Complete the boxes with an *, the other boxes are optional
Choose your own username and password
Select submit and you will receive an automated response telling you if you have successfully logged in
To Log-in
Enter your chosen username and password
You will then have access to all Events as well as Useful Information in the Parent Menu.
All Events (sporting and non-sporting) require Log-in.
This week’s events
On the Homepage there is a message ‘Click here for this week’s events’. This is kept up to date so any changes to matches will be displayed here. Team lists will be displayed once team takers have decided on their teams and usually no later than
It will also include other events, such as extra curricular trips, musical events, chapel services etc. To view full details of these events you must first be logged-in.
If you have any problems with log-in or you forget your username or password just contact the website administrator, via the school secretary.
Photographs
Photographs of events at school are regularly placed on the website, YouTube and other promotional literature. File sizes are reduced and names are never put alongside photos in the public area. However, if you do not want pictures of your son to appear please inform the Headmaster.
Photographs used on the website are kept on file in School Archives in their original format and we would be happy to let parents have copies on request.
YouTube
Some events at Horris Hill have been placed on YouTube. You can link directly by going to Latest news or Parent Menu and selecting YouTube (then follow the link on this page).
Cookies
For registered users to take advantage of our automated login feature, make sure you have "cookies enabled" on your computer. This means that when you re-visit the Horris Hill website from your computer you won't have to go through the login procedure again (unless you purposefully logged out the last time you visited).
How to enable cookies on your browser:

Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
Click on the "Privacy" tab.
Click the "Default" button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium") under "Settings".
Click "OK".

Horris Hill will not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information about you. However, if you wish to restrict or block the cookies which are set by the Horris Hill website, you can do this through your browser settings.
