Staff List

Horris Hill is one of the country’s leading prep schools: our teaching staff has to be of the highest quality.

Our boys benefit from a staff common room that consists of subject-specialist teachers who also offer their expertise on the games field, their pastoral care as a tutor and their enthusiasms during activity time.

Most staff, along with their families and dogs, are accommodated on the estate, creating a true community.

Governors

The Governors act as the Trustees of the School in respect of its status as a charity. They provide strategic guidance on the running of the School and are the point of last appeal on issues such as the exclusion of a pupil or employees' grievances. They are also responsible for appointing the Headmaster and Bursar.

The Board of Governors consists of members with a wide range of knowledge and experience. Some are current parents, former parents or past pupils, but some have no previous connection with the School and therefore provide an even broader perspective. They are all volunteers who receive no remuneration and gain no pecuniary advantage from their position, but without them the School could not function either legally or practically.

The Chairman of Governors' postal address is:

c/o Horris Hill School, Newtown, Newbury, Berkshire, RG20 9DJ

The full Board meets three times a year. The Finance and Estates Committee, the Education Committee and the Policy and Audit Committee also meet in advance of Board meetings.
