Financial assistance (Bursaries)
A Horris Hill education has been giving pupils an outstanding start in life for over 130 years. Our leaders are committed to broadening access to the school by offering means-tested financial support to help with the payment of school fees. This support is known as a Bursary and is awarded in the form of a percentage discount on basic fees payable.
We have long-strived to try and enable children who would benefit from joining our school community, but whose families are not able to access a Horris Hill education, to do so with some financial assistance.
We currently have three types of bursary available to families:
Military – Currently Serving and Veterans
In recognition of our debt to those who serve the UK in its Armed Forces, we have specific bursary support for families, both of currently serving personnel and veterans. This is a limited offer and available to families new to Horris Hill School. Horris Hill is owned by Forfar Education, founded by a former Queen’s Royal Hussar, John Forsyth. We fully recognise the support that all our current armed forces and veterans require, not just those with CEA. For that reason, we offer the largest bursaries in the country to all serving forces personnel and veterans.
A non-refundable Registration of £100 applies. A reduced acceptance deposit of £1,500 is required to accept a place for your child.
Alumni – Limited offer available
For those who themselves benefitted from an education at Horris Hill School, we are able to offer Alumni the opportunity for their children to attend at a reduced rate. The below offer is only available to new pupils.
Our Chairman has committed to offering a 50% reduction on fees for 3 years, followed by a reduction of 25% for the remainder of their academic life at Horris Hill School. Our Registration fee and Deposits remain as published on our fees page.
In addition, any family can apply for a means-tested bursary; families whose needs meet the criteria will be given assistance in paying fees. Award of a bursary will depend on the financial, compassionate, or other circumstances of applicants.
Bursary awards are subject to repeat testing of parental means each year and may be varied upwards or downwards, depending on change in circumstances.
