Horris Hill benefits from a supportive and committed alumni who form a valuable part of our history. For the benefit of our current pupils, and those of future generations, Horris Hill School is keen to maintain its traditions and culture through its Alumni. As such, we would be delighted to welcome any of our Alumni back to Horris Hill and extend a warm invitation to our annual events.

Horris Flair: Inspiring Excellence
Max Woosnam, 1900 - 1905
Born in 1892, Max Woosnam attended Horris Hill between 1900 and 1905. He went on to achieve huge acclaim in sport, including as Wimbledon Doubles Champion, Manchester City football captain, an Olympian and cricketer. Woosnam is sometimes referred to as the 'Greatest British sportsman' in recognition of his achievements and skill.
Douglas Jardine, 1910 - 1914
Douglas Jardine was a British cricketer who played 22 Test matches for England, and is perhaps is best known for captaining the English team during their successful 1932–33 Ashes tour of Australia. During his final year at Horris Hill, the school’s first eleven remained unbeaten under his captaincy.
Richard Adams, 1926 - 1933
Born in Newbury, and attending Horris Hill between 1926 and 1933, Richard Adams went on to become a highly esteemed writer and novelist. His works include Watership Down and The Plague Dogs.
