Lower School Pastoral Care
A Supportive and Nurturing Environment
At Horris Hill School, we are fortunate to have an incredibly kind and caring community, where staff are both supportive and nurturing. This environment allows each pupil to grow into their own identity, building confidence and independence along the way.
Outstanding pastoral care is a key strength of the school. Our experienced pastoral team, led by tutors, plays a vital role in supporting both the academic progress and personal development of every pupil. Staff work to ensure that each child is given the opportunity to shine—nurturing confidence, a sense of achievement, and belonging.
At Horris Hill, we are proud to be an independent school that strives for excellence in education. Alongside academic teaching, we guide pupils to behave well, and to show kindness, respect, and tolerance for others.
Health Centre
We are proud to have a dedicated, resident Nurse on site. Once you’ve completed the medical forms, the Nurse is happy to speak with you to discuss any further needs. Our purpose-built medical centre provides care for pupils who may be feeling unwell, need emotional support, or have picked up a bump during sports.
Dietary
Food and nutrition are an important part of school life—and for many, it’s a favourite part of the day! We understand that children perform at their best when they enjoy their meals and never go hungry.
We cater for all allergies and dietary requirements. Please ensure any specific needs are discussed with the School Nurse and form tutor before starting.
The weekly school menu can be viewed here.
Every Child is Known and Valued
We are always happy to discuss your child’s individual needs and how Horris Hill can support their personal and academic journey. Our Admissions Team would be delighted to hear from you; please don’t hesitate to get in touch to find out more or arrange a visit.
