Join Horris Hill Nursery

Our Nursery, for girls and boys aged from two years, opened in 2022 and has no entry criteria.

We offer a welcoming environment here at Horris Hill, an independent school just outside Newbury, with best availability for children aged 3+, although we still have some spaces remaining for children aged 2+. Parents can sign up for morning, afternoon, or full-day sessions. Our Nursery is open 50 weeks a year - perfect for busy working families. Registration can be made without assessment.

Our nursery is set in 65 acres of beautiful Berkshire countryside, providing a safe, secure, and peaceful environment for your child. The school site’s driveway ensures minimal passing traffic, offering a quiet and calm setting for learning and play.

We take great pride in our caring and fully qualified early years team, who are dedicated to ensuring your child's early development is nurtured in a warm and supportive environment. The nursery is housed in a dedicated set of rooms within Horris Hill's Lower School, fully equipped with everything needed to provide the best care and learning experience for young children. In addition, our nursery children have regular opportunities to mingle with older students from Reception, Year 1, and Year 2. This encourages a broad range of friendships and gives children exposure to a variety of social dynamics, helping them build confidence and feel part of the wider school community.

Before your child starts at Horris Hill Nursery, we will invite you and your child to attend a minimum of two settling-in sessions. These sessions last approximately 90 minutes, and usually begin between 9:00am and 10:30am.

These sessions help you and your child get to know the Horris Hill nursery team members and other children at the nursery. They also help your child to get used to short periods of time at the nursery before building up to a full session, becoming accustomed to the new environment. Children are welcome to bring a cuddly toy or other comfort item during these settling-in sessions.

We ask you to help us gather as much information about your child as we can during these sessions.
