Preparing your child for school
From the moment a child joins us, we work closely with families to ensure a smooth and confident transition into Reception at Horris Hill School.
Starting school is a significant milestone — not just for children, but for their parents too. Whether your child is moving up from our own nursery (click here to find out more about Horris Hill Nursery), joining us from another local setting in the Newbury area, starting school directly from home, or switching schools for any reason, we are here to support you every step of the way.
We take time to get to know each child and family, building trust and creating a strong sense of belonging from day one. Our experienced team focuses on the skills and confidence children need to thrive in Reception, while also supporting parents through clear communication, expert guidance, and genuine care.
Whatever the path to joining Horris Hill, we are committed to making the transition into school a positive, exciting and reassuring experience for every child.
