UN Sustainable Development Goals

Each academic year we pick one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as our focus for the year. The goal is then embedded across the school curriculum, both in and out of the classroom, through talks, workshops and much more.

Following Horris Hill tradition, outdoor learning plays a big part, with sessions in the Kitchen Garden, the school woods, and learning about rewilding and our wider environment. We encourage the children to lead as much as possible, developing their confidence, independence and their consciousness of our world and environment.

For the 2023/24 school year, we are focusing on goal #14 – Life Below Water. Throughout the autumn term the children have already been getting immersed in this topic, resulting in assembly presentations to the rest of the school.
